Monday night Andrew played in the 8th Grade Band & Symphonic Band Bridge Concert. Sander Grotjohn and Dale Gunderson both Directed. The Symphonic Band performed Stars & Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa and Halcyon Hearts by Katahj Copley. Tiffany said she really liked Halcyon Hearts. I, unfortunately, was working so I could not attend.
It was tax week for the Keating household which resulted in a good amount of anxiety over unexpected tax obligations, loss of health insurance tax credits from switching from MNsure to my employer provided insurance, a substantially lower paycheck due to increased tax withholdings, loss of child credit and IRA contributions, and fears over inflation. Having said all that, we consider ourselves luckier than most and can feel for how much the working class is struggling every day.
Throughout the week, my coffee intake has substantially increased from a cup every couple of months to a daily small cup before work. To be fair, I have also stopped drinking Coke every day and continue to not drink coffee at home.☕️
Saturday, the dive team and SAR assembled at the barn and then headed over to the Middle School for a pool training day. We returned to the barn with everyone accounted for so it was a good day. In the evening, we watched the movie Inception. Andrew thought it was long and Tiffany didn’t care for it at all. The concept of dreams within dreams reminded me of a past math teachers’ mantra, functions within functions within functions…
Sunday, Tiffany cut my hair in the morning. The rest of the day was mostly unproductive for me, I haven’t actually had a whole day off for a while. I had hopes of starting an effective study habit, but it didn’t come together.
