Monday, I headed over to the Itasca County Treasure and paid our first half of our property taxes. I then picked up a whole cut up fryer chicken and some Stubb’s Original Bar-B-Q Sauce for grilling. 🍗 Stubb’s tastes really peppery and sweet too me, overall, I liked it and it also doesn’t have any high fructose corn syrup in it. As a bonus, I found some asparagus by our mailbox for the first time this year.
Thursday 15th, we received some thunderstorms that moved through the area. With all the fires that have sprung up due to the hot, dry, windy weather any rain is welcome.
Andrew had a good day at work on Saturday, it was his second shift and he said he is learning! Tiffany spent the day cleaning the house, doing laundry, mowing the grass, cooking, tending to Willow, and cut my hair after I returned home from work. Saturday evening was overcast, rainy, and cold out so Tiffany made Chili for dinner. After we ate, we watched the movie Run.
I had Sunday off and was able to FINALLY get the stump out of the ground by the road. There were two big stumps from pine trees that the power company cut down. I dug them out, burnt them, cut them with a chainsaw, chopped at them with an axe, and used a spud bar to pry at them. Stump removal is not for novices. Later we grilled chuck eye steaks from Super 1 and chicken spinach brats for dinner. We also made the asparagus that I had picked earlier in the week, it was delicious.
Andrew mentioned he wants to get matching tattoos with me for his eighteenth birthday, I’m not sure Tiffany is really thrilled with that idea. Andrew said if he goes to Duluth to get one, he wants a tattoo of a light house. I have always thought that if I got a tattoo, it would be of a ruler on my forearm like Adam Savage has from Myth Busters. At least it would be useful.
