This week, I thought about changing the time period that I do a weekly update. Monday through Sunday seems to be working well as it includes the whole weekend. The only reason I thought about changing it was I sometimes like to work on my blog on Sundays. I’ll keep it the same for now but maybe I’ll come up with a better idea in the future.

Andrew had his last choir concert on Monday evening in A Cappella as Tenor One. I did not attend the concert due to work. The concert was “Taking Flight” with Jacob Hanson, Conducting and Sue Hoolihan on Piano. Tiffany enjoyed listening to Tres Cantos Nativos Dos Indios Krao by Marcos Leite (1953-2002). She said she liked the sound effects the performers made. Andrew did not sign up to continue choir next year; with PSEO, marching band, theater, work, and everything else he doesn’t have time.

Thursday, Tiffany made me beef tips on mashed potatoes, cut green beans, and sourdough bread. It tasted just like a beef commercial. We listened to a Rhapsody in Blue while eating ✈️.

Tiffany downloaded Fortnite which once again can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. Tiffany, Andrew, and I spent several evenings together playing Fortnite several years ago when we lived in Canby. Andrew would play it on his Switch and Tiffany and I would use Nimbus controllers and play it on our iPhones and/or iPads. We will have to see if we can all get connected again and have a reunion.

Friday after work was the start to a long Memorial Day weekend! I am very glad to not be working every weekend and all holidays during the summer anymore.

Dock

Saturday morning was beautiful out, just the right amount of crisp air, sunshine, calmness, and spring green colors everywhere. I sat on the deck and did some blog gardening while listening to the birds singing. Feel free to check out my updated photography page 📸. I don't have a lot of photos up but I'll add more in time.

I tilled up and tamped down the area where I had removed the stumps. I then did some yard work before we got a little rain in the middle of the day. We made Fajitas on the flattop for dinner and afterward I headed down to the dock and fished for a while. I caught two small Walleyes and one Rock Bass, no eaters.

As I made our bed late Sunday morning, I was reminded as I often am of a . University-Wide Commencement speech given by US Navy Admiral William H. McRaven to The University of Texas at Austin, May 17, 2014. It is a great motivational speech and if you listen to a little of it, you would understand why I think of it often while making the bed.

It also was another beautiful day on Sunday. We readjusted the 2020 Hewitt 1150AL Sea Doo lift; the lift has never been right since we purchased it. The 2021 Sea Doo GTX170 has a deep hull design that requires it to be lifted high on the bunks to clear cross supports built into the lift. Unfortunately, the lift didn’t come with the right ones and the replacement parts are not working as intended. Tiffany and Andrew mowed the grass. Again, I tried fishing in the evening, the beaver 🦫 is back, it splashed its tail at me.

End of blog. Thank you for reading!
