06/30/2025 to 07/06/2025

I noticed this week some of the flowers are done blooming. It feels like Spring/early summer has passed us by and we haven’t even reached Fourth of July yet. May/June are definitely my favorite months.

We had a dive team meeting on Tuesday evening and then after, I added RSS feed capability to my blog site. My brother had mentioned he was interested in being able to follow my blog with rss feed reader. I was surprised how easy it was to add a little code and make that happen. I now need to start working on ways to automate some house keeping chores when publishing new content. I’m playing with some Python code that adds new stuff and then creates a .xml file but I will need to optimize that for my use in the future.

Thursday the 3rd, Tiffany made some delicious scallops and shrimp for dinner. Tiffany’s recipe for scallops is as follows; drizzle olive oil and about 3 T of butter into a pan and let it melt. Put a teaspoon of garlic in the pan and let it brown, pat dry the scallops and make sure your pan is hot. Place them in the butter mixture and season with season salt. Cook one side for 3 min and the flip over and cook the other side for 3 more minutes and then baste with the butter in the pan for about 30 seconds. Golden brown scallops are then ready to enjoy!

Friday the 4th, Donnie, Carrie, and Camron stopped by to say hi while on their way from Crain Lake to Osage. After visiting with them for a while, Debra, Steve, and Kim came over for dinner. We enjoyed an appetizer of wonderful bacon wrapped scallops with a jalapeño lime sauce. I then grilled Porterhouse Steaks, 🥩 Debra brought her potato salad, and Tiffany made Brussel sprouts with béarnaise sauce for the main course. Unfortunately, the fireworks display was canceled due to storms moving in.

Saturday, after the fireworks display was done from the golf course, we watched another amazing firework 🧨 display that came from the Ruff Shores Rd/Southwood Rd area. Whoever it is, does this for the boats that are returning from the main event.

Early Monday morning, I took my first pictures of the stars using the iPhone 16 Pro. Later, in the early hours of Sunday morning, I stayed up experimenting with star photography from our dock. I managed to capture both Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. I'd like to continue exploring night sky photography with my new iPhone 16 pro. ✨
