DRPD FTO Phase1 🚔, CAD/RMS 💻, Tiffany’s 🦷

On Tuesday, I started DRPD FTO Phase 1. Part of the day was spent re-familiarizing myself with the integrated CAD/RMS system. LETG (Law Enforcement Technology Group) was the last CAD/RMS system that I used before leaving the Canby Police Department. LETG eventually evolved into CentralSquare Public Safety Suite Pro (formerly Zuercher). I will have to learn this system and use it for a short while and then we will be transitioning to Oracle Public Safety.

A brief historical note of personal history with RMS systems

The first records management system that I implemented within the Canby Police Department was Microsoft Access. Dave Rupp, Clarkfield, MN, was the developer of the database that I, and many other surrounding LE agencies used. We integrated our local databases into a network called Multiple Jurisdiction Network Organization (MJNO.) MJNO proved to be an effective investigative resource. The Canby Police Department was in fact highlighted as an example “Unexpected Link Proves Pivotal in Canby Car Theft,” Minnesota Chiefs of Police – The Exchange MJNO Newsletter, Vol. 3, Issue 3 (October 31, 2002), p. 6.

Unfortunately, MJNO was rightfully shut down due to privacy and security issues. There are plenty of reasons why as noted in these articles by MPR News & Police 1.

Woodbury, MN Police Officer-Developer (Jeff Gottstein) developed an in-house records database to modernize report writing and case tracking which eventually became LETG. After LETG came along, all of the Yellow Medicine County law enforcement agencies switched from isolated record management systems to one integrated CAD/RMS system run by the county.

Throughout the past week, Tiffany has been experiencing a lot of pain in her teeth, gums, and jaw. We thought maybe it was a sinus infection but on Thursday, Doctor Anderson informed her that she has a cracked number 3 tooth. 🦷 She has been taking antibiotics and pain medication but it still has been very painful for her. 😖 She has an appointment at Great Lakes Endodontics in Duluth on Monday to determine if she will have a root canal with a crown or will have to have an extraction with an implant.

End of blog. Thank you for reading!
