DRPD Phase 2, Symphonic Band, Vernal Equinox ☀️

Picked up a cold from someplace, lots of people out sick at Miner’s. I first noticed it last Friday while driving home from Fiddler on the Roof.

Monday was first day of Phase 2 DRPD FTO. First day back in uniform since 10/15/2020. Started off with felony fraud case, assisted county with call north of Squaw Lake. Toured Max, Inger, Ball Club, found out where Tibbetts Road is - behind Eagle Street in village 2, Ball Club, Edgewater. It was a steady shift that gave me a good dose of CAD/RMS use.

Tuesday ☘️, I was fitted at city hall for my first outer carrier vest by Streicher’s. I have always worn a concealed vest so this will be new for me. I’m looking forward to getting equipment off of my duty belt and onto the carrier. Later while assisting the county, I detained and placed my first guest into the Itasca County Jail.

The Grand Rapids Symphonic Band traveled to Rock Ridge’s beautiful new performing arts center, performed in the Region 7AA North Contest, and received a Superior Rating! 🎼 🎶

Friday the 20th, was the first day of Spring and the (vernal) equinox! Sunrise was at 0716 hours and sunset was 1927 hours…Why is it not exactly 12 hours, because we measure sunrise by when the top edge of the disk appears and sunset by the last bit, not the center. Furthermore, the equinox is defined as the moment when the Sun crosses the celestial equator, not by a 12-hour period.
