GR Band Fundraiser, Ice Out, Phi Theta Kappa, Bemidji BCA, DRPD FTO

Monday was the annual Moose 🫎 Club GR Band fundraiser! As usual, it was very loud and crazy with the music, raffle drawings, and people coming and going. There was very little parking so I had to parallel park, successfully I might add. The kids had a kettle of sauerkraut that I put on my bratwurst and I realized that it’s a must have condiment from this day forward. 🌭

I’m declaring Thursday, April 23rd, ice-out for Wendigo Bay. Last year as noted in blog post 04/27/2025, I declared ice-out on April 22nd. I think there is still some ice floating around but you could “navigate straight across the bay in a boat” - so that is my criteria for ice-out.

Andrew made the Minnesota North College Itasca Campus’s Dean’s list. Andrew and Tiffany attended a dinner at the college to celebrate. Andrew received an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, I’m not sure he’s interested in spending the $80 to join:) I have been a proud card-carrying alumnus of the Alpha Nu Kappa Chapter since 10/11/2018, member number 000020930893. Friday, I attended a MNJIS One-Day Basic Operator course held at the BCA Bemidji Laboratory. We had a catered Mexican lunch from QDOBA that was delicious.

Saturday was another day of FTO, lots of things going on, everyday lessons learned from continued activity. Lost my right Hatch Model FM2000 Friskmaster glove 🧤 someplace during a felony warrant arrest. I’ve had these gloves forever – probably needed to replace anyway, not sure how long Spectra lasts…
