First Day Full-Time DRPD, Trailblazer, Trax, Fishing Opener, Mother’s Day

May the 4th be with everyone! Lots of whitecaps on the lake before work.💨 Monday was also my first day working full-time for DRPD. I am having anxiety and feeling stressed about being able to complete FTO, I’m sure it’s normal but I can’t wait for it to be over. As long as I stay focused and stay at the needed alertness level, my experience should get me through it. Unfortunately, my shift started with an officer involved shooting - ICSO Deputy received a gunshot wound while attempting a warrant arrest in Max, hopefully he has a speedy recovery.

Andrew’s Trailblazer has been making some interesting noises so we dropped it off at Automotive Electric. Unfortunately, we received terrible news, the diagnosis was fatal. The main structural integrity of the vehicle was compromised. So that’s that.

On Wednesday evening, we visited Grand Rapids Chevrolet and found a 2026 white-sand Trax Active, Andrew’s new mini-SUV. We then drove his new Trax down to Harry’s Bar & Grill in Hill City, and had a funeral for the Trailblazer. Tiffany and I purchased the Trailblazer new in 2002 from Gillian Chevrolet in St Cloud from Randy Massicotte. It gave us 172,682 good memorable miles. Tiffany brought Andrew home from the hospital in it and it was Andrew’s first car. Thursday, I dropped the Trailblazer off at the dealership and they gave us $250 dollars for it. 😢

Saturday May 9th was the MN Walleye opener 🎣and Sunday May 10th was Mother’s Day. I had to work so didn’t participate with any activities. Steve brought Tiffany, Debra, and Andrew to the Timberlake Restaurant for Mother’s Day brunch which included Lamb, Prime Rib, and Porkchops. Afterward, Andrew dove Tiffany around and they got ice cream and stopped at Home Depot for some supplies.
