Fortnightly Update, Tioga, Starship, Memorial Day 🇺🇸, Grand Marais, Andrew’s 18th Birthday 🎉
Week I
Welcome to the new “iKeating Fortnightly Update.” I work a lot of 12-hour shifts in a row and then have a lot of days off all within a two-week period so it makes sense to switch to a fortnightly blog rather than a weekly.
I dove for the first time this year at Tioga with Rich and Jon on Thursday. It was nice to see my wife and dog.

On Friday, Starship block 3 - first to use Raptor 3 rocket engines - lifted off of pad 2 for test flight 12. Starship performed well but booster didn’t land in the ocean as planned.
Week II
Monday was Memorial Day, very grateful to all the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸 Wednesday, I picked up new
MN 100 Club license plates for my truck. Thursday, I picked up my new bulletproof vest and
outer carrier from work.
Grand Marais.
Day 1
Friday morning, we left and dropped Willow off at the
Itasca Dog Lodge. We ate brunch at the Duluth Grill, I had the everything skillet with Hollandaise sauce, always very good. On our way up to Grand Marais, we stopped at the Black Sand Beach, gave me a moonscape vibe. After arriving in Grand Marais, we had cocktails and wings at the Gun Flint Tavern, house dry rub wings were delicious. Afterward, we checked into
East Bay Suites room number 206. For dinner, we had take-out pizza from Sven & Ole’s.

Day 2
For breakfast Tiffany and Andrew picked up donuts from World’s best donuts. 🍩 We then attempted to go for a ride on a sailboat but the wind was too strong so it was called off. We then drove to
Judge C. R. Magney State Park and hiked to Devils Kettle waterfall. After returning to Grand Marais, we ate lunch at
Hungry Hippie Tacos. 🌮 I had the Northern Gringo with
Cry Baby Craigs hot sauce. The taco reminded me of a traditional Indian Taco, it was absolutely delicious! We drove up to the
Naniboujou Lodge for dinner. We all had Cranberry pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, vegetable, French bread, and our homemade Danish Cream with raspberry sauce for dessert.

Day 3, Andrew’s Official 18th Birthday!
Tiffany got us set up with some awesome
⚡️Super73 E-Bikes from
Electric Trails. After getting our e-bikes, we road from Temperance River State Park into the Superior National Forest, parked our bikes and then hiked up Tofte Peak ~ 1430’ – for reference Lake Superior is ~ 600’, Pokegama Lake is 1273’, Big Thunder Peak (Sugar Hills Rec Area) is ~ 1752’.

After returning to Duluth, we had sandwiches at Northern Waters Smokehaus and then returned home and picked up Willow.
