To no surprise, this last four weeks have gone by like a blur so instead of a fortnightly post we have a double fortnightly post.
On Saturday the 19th, I charged the battery in the SeaDoo, filled in up with gas, and Andrew put it in the Lake.
On Saturday the 27th, we drove to Walker and had lunch at Chase on the Lake. We then drove south to Nevis and stopped at Gary Plumley’s for a 90th birthday party for his brother John Plumley. Gary has a law enforcement patch collection in his garage bar so I gave him a City of Canby Patch for the wall. Gary used to ride bulls in the rodeo and his wife was a barrel clown, I think. 🤠 Gary and John have a third brother Roger. Steve’s father’s sister is the mother of the three and Steve would be a cousin to them. Gary Plumley and his wife ran Bullwinkle’s in Nevis for a time.
After work on Tuesday the 30th, Andrew and I swam off our dock for the first time this year. The water seems to have been slow to warm up this year but it sure felt good. It was hot and the next few days are supposed to be hot as well.
On Thursday the 2nd, I downloaded a software update to my Colorado, N242452130. Here is another link to the software update as well.
Fourth of July 🇺🇸 Smash burgers 🍔 next day. Rainy on the fourth went to Pickled Loon. Sunday was beautiful.
I worked my first regular 3 to 3 shift by myself on Wednesday the 8th. I’m not sure if this means I’m done with FTO but regardless I’m still on probation until November 4th. The real meaning of all of this is the satisfaction of being able to retire from one department (forget what I didn’t like and didn’t matter) and then have the fortitude to start over at another and enjoy the work like I did when I first started this career in 1996.
I made it through working the Deer River Wild Rice Festival, it was hot but trouble free for the most part. I now get to transition into my regular schedule. 👍
